The research group, Hyde and Shibley, concluded that the guys were not put off by whether their potential date played hard to get or not. This mentality pretty much sumed up the biology of most men when it came to picking up woman in that a mans ego gets a boost by dating a lady who plays hard to get.

However there is a fine line when it comes to just how ‘hard to get should she be’ If she steps over that line, the words snob and pretentious start to ring loudly, and most men will simply forget and move on.
